Let's get started!

Step 1

Cut the following lengths of 21 gauge gold-filled square half hard wire. 2 lengths at 2-3/4 inch, 4 lengths at 2-1/4 inches and 4 lengths at 1-3/4 inches. Make two bundles as follows: Center wire is 2-3/4 inches, on both sides of the center wire one wire at 2-1/4 inches and one1-3/4 inches outer wire on each side of the bundle.

Step 2

Cut one 2 inch length of 18 gauge sterling silver half round wire. Begin wrapping the bundle approx. 1-1/4 inch from the top of the longest wire at the top of the bundle Make 4 complete wraps and cut the excess wire off on the backside of the angel.

Step 3

Before doing anything more to your bundle, start making the second duplicate bundle of wires. After finishing your wraps, place the two bundles side by side and clip off excess wire to make the two bundles identical.

Step 4

Using the tip of your round nose pliers make an outward curl on the four outer wires on the top of each bundle.

Step 5

Next grasp each curl with your round nose pliers and pull the wires down on both sides of each bundle to form the arms and the wings of the angel.

Step 6

String a 4mm sterling silver bead on each of the wires on the lower end of the bundle and, using your round nose pliers, make an outward curl on the end of each wire.

Step 7

String one 8mm bead on the long extending wire at the top and use your flat nose pliers to make a 45 degree bend in the wire at the top of the bead.

Step 8

Make a small loop in the wire right at the top of the bead using the tip of your round nose pliers.

Step 9

Clip off the excess wire and flatten the loop with your flat nose pliers. The loop should make a completely closed circle.Your angel.

Step 10

The finished angel ready for attaching to the French hook.

Step 11

The most effective way to attach an earring to a French hook is to open the loop on the French hook by moving the end of the loop laterally with your flat nose pliers. Do not pull the loop open by widening the circle of the loop. This will weaken the loop. Insert the loop of the earring and use your flat nose pliers to close the earring loop by pressing it flat. Make sure that the loop is closed tight so the earring will not escape.
