Inspired by a beautiful icy glacier, I used 2 different colored size 6 seed beads and 4mm crystals for the links. I also made the necklace large enough to go over my head so I don't need a clasp but you can always adapt the pattern to include one if you desire. A focal piece is optional.

Instructions
Step 1
Use a wire straightener to straighten the wire directly on the spool.
Cut a 2" piece of the 20 gauge wire, making sure each end is flush cut (this makes the inner swirl look nicer). Make a slight bend at the middle of the wire. Grab the wire tip with your round nose pliers and make a tiny loop at the end.

Step 2
Grab the spiral with your flat nose pliers and tightly roll the wire around itself using your fingers. Stop when you reach the middle bend.

Step 3
Once you are half way through spiraling the wire, do the same on the other wire end going in the opposite direction.

Step 4
Make 13 spiral connectors. Work harden them by hammering on a bench block.

Step 5
Make the beaded connectors by cutting a 3" piece of 24 gauge wire and making a 90 degree bend at 1 inch.

Step 6
Make a wrapped loop on one end of the wire, add a tiny seed bead, 3 large seed beads and another tiny seed bead to the wire and make a wrapped loop on the other wire end.

Step 7
Make 10 of these seed bead links. Also make 6 links using crystals instead of seed beads.

Step 8
Open a large jump ring, slide the following onto the jump ring and close the jump ring:
2 large seed beads
Beaded link
2 large seed beads
Spiral connector

Step 9
Repeat Step 8 for the remaining components using the image for placement guidance. Incorporate the crystal links as well. I used a pattern of 2 seed bead connectors and a crystal connector for the sample shown here.

Step 10
Use any focal piece with a top loop and connect by adding a jump ring to the necklace ends.
I made the focal piece featured here with German glass, resin and a seed bead stitched square on top.
