Wrapping a bundle can be a little tricky when beginning to work with wire.  Once you have secured your bundle of wires with masking tape or a hemostat, you are now ready to began wrapping your bundle.  At first you must guesstimate as to the length of your wrap wire.  Keep in mind how many wraps you are planning and how wide your bundle is.  It is always better to start with a little longer wire than to run short of wire and have to undo your work and start with a longer wire.  Note the thickness of your bundle.  If you are working with very thin wires, then you need to work with a small pair of flat nose pliers to start your wrap wire.  The thickness of the wires in the bundle will determine what size pliers and at what point on the jaws of the pliers you will place your wrap wire for making the loop.  Normally continuous wraps are made with half round wire, but under certain circumstances other wires may be used, but the procedure remains the same.

With your flat nose pliers, grasp the half round wire at a slight angle about 1/2 inch from the end .   With pressure from your finger, bring the short end of the wire around the jaws of the plier.  The point at which you are bending the wire should be the same thickness as the wire in your bundle.  Notice the slight angle in the bend.  Do not bend the wire perpendicular to the long end.

After determining where you are going to start your wrap on the bundle, place the loop of the wire around the bundle.  With your flat nose pliers press the loop down against the bundle.  Using the pressure of your finger, bend the long end of wire over and around the bundle.  With your flat nose pliers, press the wrap wire to the bundle.  To have neat wraps, it is important to press each wrap down with your flat nose pliers.

Continue wrapping the half round wire, using your flat nose pliers to press each wrap down neatly onto the bundle.  When you have made all the wraps that you desire, clip both ends of the wrap wire on the backside of the bundle and press the cut ends down neatly onto the bundle with your flat nose pliers.
